Stop the Extreme Abortion Constitutional Amendment
Identical Virginia General Assembly Senate and House resolutions seek to enshrine a “fundamental right” to abortion in Virginia’s constitution!
Virginia Pro-Life Day will be your last opportunity to tell your legislators you strongly oppose this radical and deadly Amendment and to urge them to vote NO!
“A proposal to add an extreme and deadly “fundamental right” to abortion to Virginia’s constitution is virtually certain to proceed to a referendum. The inevitable and alarming reality is that Virginia voters will be faced with this ballot question sometime in 2026 – either during a special election in the spring or during the general election in November. The exact timing of the referendum will be determined by the General Assembly in January.
This radical amendment goes far beyond even what Roe v. Wade previously allowed. It would enshrine virtually unlimited abortion at any stage of pregnancy, with no age restriction. Among numerous other problems, it would severely jeopardize Virginia’s parental consent law, conscience protections for healthcare providers, health and safety standards for women, and restrictions on taxpayer-funded abortions. Most tragically of all, the extreme abortion amendment provides no protections whatsoever for preborn children.”
