Catholics in the Capital

Join us in Richmond and advocate for life & justice

The process is simple!

Pick a date!

Select any weekday between January 10 – March 2, 2018.

Contact your representatives

Call or email your state senator and delegate and schedule a time to visit their offices. Find legislators’ contact information in the Action Center. In some cases, legislators may ask their legislative assistants to meet with you. The legislative assistant is expected to faithfully communicate your concerns and opinions to the legislator.

Register with us

Register with the Conference using this form. We’ll set up a time to meet with you – and any others, if you are in a group – before your legislative visits. We’ll provide materials that will be helpful during your visit, including legislative updates and talking points for your conversations with legislators.

Spread the word!

Most state legislators enjoy meeting with their consituents. Be sure to tell your family, friends and fellow parishioners about your advocacy efforts and encourage them to do likewise. If you’re sharing on social media, we suggest #CatholicsInTheCap and #VaGA2018.

Plan your trip

While you’re here, check out all Richmond’s Capitol Square has to offer. Experience the history of Mr. Jefferson’s Capitol by taking a guided or self-guided tour.  Attend the 12:05 p.m. daily Mass at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, just across 9th street, or arrange for your delegate or senator to introduce your group in the House or Senate gallery at noon.
