ERA Fight Over

February 21, 2019 by Jeff Caruso

Virginia stands strong against pro-abortion efforts

ERA proponents’ procedural efforts to circumvent long established rules in the Virginia House of Delegates FAILED today.  The decision made at the full and fair hearing where the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) failed to pass in the House is final.  The ERA is officially dead in Virginia!
Thank you to all of you who helped us in our advocacy to defeat the pro-abortion efforts to enshrine “abortion rights” in the U.S. Constitution through the ERA.  Equality for women is an important undertaking; but the ERA as drafted is not the proper vessel. We need to continue to educate our neighbors about the danger to the unborn that the ERA poses.
ERA proponents are already looking to 2020 to push the ERA through Virginia. We need to continue to fight these advances which threaten the most vulnerable among us.  We have the perfect opportunity for you to be heard by your legislators.
