Action Center
Welcome!
On November 4, Virginians will select candidates for all 100 seats in the House of Delegates as well as for Governor, Lt. Governor and Attorney General. While every year in Virginia is an election year, this November’s elections are poised to have an outsized impact on our Commonwealth as our state legislators continue to consider three proposed constitutional amendments, including an extreme constitutional amendment establishing a “right” to abortion.
The legislators we elect this November will decide whether the proposed amendments are advanced or stopped.
As such we are offering parishes and Catholics a wide array of Election Resources:
- A pre-election letter issued by Bishop Burbidge and Bishop Knestout ( English | Spanish )
- Register to vote bulletin insert flyer ( English | Spanish )
- Constitutional Amendment Proposals Flyer ( English | Spanish )
- Candidate Comparison Charts for:
- Four Principles of Catholic Social Teaching printout ( English | Spanish )
- Links to request your absentee ballot and find your polling place
- Additional resources for parishes
Please share this info with family and friends now, so they will be prepared to vote in these important elections. Also be sure to sign up for our alerts.

“Human dignity is respected and the common good is fostered only if human rights are protected and basic responsibilities are met. Every human being has a right to life, the fundamental right that makes all other rights possible, and a right to access those things required for human decency – food and shelter, education and employment, health care and housing, freedom of religion and family life.”
